No need to panic about shortage of diabetes meds
Although some Barbadians are having difficulties sourcing some traditionally free brands of diabetes medication, there's no need to panic about an overall shortage of drugs to treat the non communicable disease in the country. That's the assurance from President of the Barbados Pharmaceutical Society, Marlon Ward-Rogers. He was speaking to CBC News as we had received some complaints from patients who had challenges sourcing certain brands like Metformin. Given the situation, the Pharmaceutical Society head says more people have been heading to private drug stores including Avida Pharmacy especially now after Christmas to get alternative brands to manage their diabetes.
