Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke claims the government has “no tolerance” for antisemitism in Australia following recent attacks in Victoria and New South Wales. “The government is completely resolute on this,” he told Sky News Australia. “We have no tolerance ... at all for any form of bigotry and for any form of antisemitism.” Mr Burke’s remarks come after a synagogue in Melbourne was firebombed last week, and a prominent Jewish Sydney community was attacked for the second time in less than a month. This has prompted backlash at Anthony Albanese over the federal government’s response to the rise in antisemitism in Australia.
