No respite for Palestinians as Israeli attacks continue on New Year’s Day
Palestinians in Gaza who lost their homes and loved ones in 2024 see little hope this new year will bring an end to their suffering. More than 45,000 people have been killed and more than a hundred thousand injured. Israeli strikes targeted several areas across the Strip at dawn on Wednesday. At least 17 were killed and several others injured, after air strikes hit homes in Jabalia in the north and in Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza. The bodies and the injured from the attack on the camp were taken to the barely functioning Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah. Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum has more from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, Palestine.
