Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie says there is “no way” the Albanese government is going to meet the “aggressive” targets they have legislated for 2030. Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero. It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “There is no way we’re actually going to meet the aggressive targets that the Labor Party put forward for 2030,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia. “That’s a huge concern because we are a middle power globally. “This is undermining our international reputation that the Labor Party almost set us up to fail.”
