Independent analyst Evan Lucas says the IMF’s grim forecast for Australia’s 2025 inflation rate is “not surprising at all”. The International Monetary Fund has released a revised forecast predicting Australia’s 2025 inflation rate will be among the highest of all advanced economies. “If you look at what we refer to as sticky inflation … things that take more than three to four months to move in price - that’s things like rent, that’s things like education, medical, personal care, insurance,” Mr Lucas told Sky News Australia. “They are holding at the moment at about four-and-a-half, five per cent; so it’s not hard to see their argument.”
