‘Not true’: CNN fact checker shuts down Tim Walz’s claim about Trump’s economy
CNN fact checker Daniel Dale has shut down a claim made by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz about Donald Trump’s economy. Dale discussed manufacturing with CNN’s Kate Bolduan and how building it back up in the US is a focus of both campaigns. Bolduan then played a clip of Walz’s comment, which he made during his appearance on ABC’s The View. Dale pointed out that Walz’s comment used statistics during Trump’s presidential term that were out of context. The network’s fact checker was also quick to label the Democratic vice-presidential candidate’s comment as “not true”. “Well, if you’re going to say something is simply factual, it should be factual. This is not. It’s not true that the Trump presidency lost more manufacturing jobs than any other presidency,” he said.
