Noticia - La revuelta de Stonewall impulsó los derechos del colectivo LGTBI
El 28 de junio se celebra el Día Internacional del Orgullo Gay, porque esa jornada, en 1969, una revuelta en Nueva York supuso un punto de inflexión en la lucha por los derechos de homosexuales, gays y transexuales... La protagonizaron los clientes de un local de ambiente, hartos del hostigamiento de la Policía. Aún quedan testigos de primera mano de aquella revuelta. Es el caso de Mark Segal, que recuerda cómo hace 55 años un motín cambiaría para siempre los derechos del colectivo. Ahora se abre una exposición en honor a los miembros LGTBI de la época. "Lo que veo ahora es que la gente puede salir y ser ellos mismos, agarrarse las manos, besarse, en cualquier sitio", asegura, y recuerdo que ellos sólo podían hacer algo parecido en el Stonewall Inn. Por eso el barrio de Greenwich Village se llena de colores con la bandera del orgullo gay, muchos aseguran que celebran los logros conseguidos hasta ahora, pero la cruzada todavía continúa.
