Nuclear ‘most expensive’ form of energy: Labor MP

Assistant Defence Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says nuclear is the “most expensive” form of energy and Australians will face a “very big increase” if Australia adopts it. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear plan last week. “The details haven’t been released yet,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “We know that nuclear is the most expensive form of energy that there is – that’s been confirmed by the CSIRO. “We’re talking about a very large cost for this policy that will flow onto consumers. “They’re going to face a very, very big increase in their electricity and their energy bills, but they don’t know the details at the moment.”
