Nuclear for Australia Founder William Shackel says nuclear power is one of the only “guaranteed pathways” for Australia to decarbonise. This follows Opposition leader Peter Dutton revealing the Coalition’s nuclear plan, including the seven sites where they plan to establish the nuclear power stations. “100 per cent renewables is not proven,” Mr Shackel said. “No country has been able to decarbonise its whole economy based on Australia’s risky, current plan.”
