Occupied West Bank attacks: At least 18 killed as Israeli raids enter second day
Israel's largest military operation in the occupied West Bank in more than 20 years has killed at least 18 Palestinians since Wednesday morning The raids in Palestinian cities and refugee camps are now into their second day, with troops, armoured vehicles and bulldozers involved. It's raising fears that Israel may carry out a full-scale destruction of the territory, as it has done in Gaza. The Israeli army says it killed five Palestinian fighters in a mosque in the Nur Shams refugee camp in the early hours of Thursday. It says one of the men was the leader of the Tulkarem Brigades, an armed faction linked to the Islamic Jihad.
