OLDER PERSONS DEMAND LOWERING OF AGE FOR SAGE PROGRAM

Elders in Obongi District are urging the Ugandan government to lower the age requirement for beneficiaries of the Social Assistance Grants for Empowerment program. Currently, only individuals aged 80 and above are eligible to receive the monthly SAGE stipend. This concern was raised during a fact-finding mission by the Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection in Obongi District.
