Ontario could cut off energy to US if Trump imposes tariffs, Ford says

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he would support cutting off energy exports south of the border to retaliate against U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs on Canadian imports. Ford made the comments after a meeting between Canadian premiers, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other federal ministers on Wednesday. “We need to be ready fight,” he told reporters, adding that federal and provincial leaders need to prepare a list of retaliatory tariffs.
