Ontario plans to bar international students from medical schools: Ford government

Connecting Ontarians with health care has now become a priority for the Doug Ford government. It's an electoral issue that's top of mind for many people, especially those who do not have a family doctor – and that number is staggering. How will they do it? The Ford government says it will achieve their goal by introducing legislation to create more local family doctors. Medical schools will be required to reserve 95 per cent of undergraduate spots for Ontario residents, leaving the other 5 per cent for students from other provinces – effectively shutting out international students.
