‘Outstanding move’: NSW Premier announces retail trade ban on Anzac Day

Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger has commended New South Wales Premier Chris Minns for his “outstanding” move of announcing a retail trade ban on Anzac Day. Mr Minns has announced a retail trade ban on Anzac Day from next year. Shopping centres and major retailers will have to close for the entire day, where they used to be able to open from 1pm. “This will build him an enormous cultural support base in the electorate,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Caleb Bond. “This is an outstanding cultural move by this fellow, and it will endear him to so many people in New South Wales and around the country who understand that Anzac Day is probably the most important day in the Australian calendar.”
