Singapore's Temasek Foundation said its mangrove restoration efforts in Indonesia have produced promising results. More than 15 hectares of mangroves -- the size of about 21 football fields -- have been planted in Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra. The project, which started three years ago, funds the local community to start a mangrove nursery enterprise. Locals collect mangrove seedlings from the wild and sell them to companies involved in the restoration programme. Indonesia is home to more than three million hectares of mangrove forests. Saifulbahri Ismail reports.
