More Singaporeans see their country as a full democracy, compared to three years ago. A survey on political attitudes in the Asia-Pacific region showed Singaporeans still give an overwhelming nod to how democracy works here. But, they are also increasingly placing more emphasis on the importance of economic strength. Over 1,000 citizens aged 21 and above were surveyed from September to November last year. Dr Gillian Koh, senior research fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies at NUS, shared her thoughts on the findings and democracy in Singapore.
