OVER USH 2.6 TRILLION SPENT ANNUALY ON ALCOHOL RELATED ILLNESS

Uganda spends USHS 2.6 trillion in treating diseases caused by alcohol consumption. This was revealed by Margaret Muhanga the Primary health care state minister before the education committee when they were discussing the alcoholic control bill. Statistics on alcohol consumption in Uganda provided that 42.8% of Ugandans aged 15 years and above are alcohol users. According to the minister Muhanga, Uganda is at a high health risk of alcohol related illness with these numbers.
