Pakistan targets tax evasion: Government looks to stabilize struggling economy

Pakistan’s government hopes to collect 47 billion dollars in income tax this year. Increasing tax revenue is one of the conditions of its International Monetary Fund bailout. But economists say that’s going to be difficult because only a small fraction of the population in the cash-based economy pays taxes.
