The Albanese government has come under pressure to resume funding to UNRWA amid a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The United Nations has warned people in Gaza are facing famine-like conditions as a result of the conflict with Israel. Israel alleges twelve of UNRWA’s 30,000 personnel were involved in the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. Both Sweden and Canada have resumed aid to UNRWA.
