Parts of Marine Parade flooded for hours due to damaged water pipe, repair works ongoing

A damaged water pipe left large parts of Marine Parade flooded for hours. The ankle-deep waters blocked roads and slowed traffic to a crawl. Marine Parade MP Tan See Leng said the pipe was damaged during lift-retrofitting works at a pedestrian overhead bridge on Marine Drive. The damaged pipe has been isolated and repairs are ongoing. National water agency PUB said the damaged pipe is a potable water pipe that serves the Marine Drive area. There was no impact on water supply to nearby residents. Rachel Teng reports.
