Passengers ride new Northumberland line for the first time in 60 years
After more than 60 years a railway line has reopened and welcomed back passenger to its services. The Northumberland line will connect towns from Ashington to Newcastle. It cost just under £300 million, and the journey to reopening was filled with delays and diversions, with just two of seven stations opening on time.
