Penny Wong accused of ‘dog-whistling’ and creating ‘climate of fear’ for Jewish-Australians

Sky News host Sharri Markson slams Foreign Minister Penny Wong for her comments on Israel as Ms Wong is being accused of “dog-whistling” and creating a “climate of fear” for Jewish-Australians. “Senior Coalition figures are tonight accusing Penny Wong of dog-whistling and creating a climate of fear for Jewish-Australians with her provocative language against Israel,” Ms Markson said. “It is their strongest comments yet … it comes after Penny Wong compared the liberal democracy of Israel with evil dictatorships, Russia and China.” Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson has accused Penny Wong of a ‘campaign of vilification’ against the Jewish state of Israel.
