Peru to investigate alleged abuse of over 500 students by teachers | ABS-CBN News
Peru Prime Minister, Gustavo Adrianzen, said the government will investigate reports of alleged violations to over 500 minor girls from the Awajun indigenous community against their teachers. The abuse of children and teenager students took place between 2010 and 2024, according to the Awajun and Wampis Women Council, Rosemary Pioc. The government of the Wampis Nation, which spans through communities at the border between Peru and the south of Ecuador, rejected the government statement hinting these practices were entrenched within the culture of these indigenous communities. Pioc also denied the statement categorically in a news conference. Adrianzen said the victims will receive psychological attention and those infected with AIDS will be assisted. - Report from Reuters For more ABS-CBN News, click the link below: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgyY1WylJUmgG2ln-vtKXb-oLlGEZc3sR Check out the latest news on upcoming Halalan 2022 here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgyY1WylJUmiGdpGgIvyNSlUsnCKyOzAM To watch the latest updates on COVID-19, click the link below: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgyY1WylJUmgUjPkc730KnTVICyQU6gBf Subscribe to the ABS-CBN News channel! - http://bit.ly/TheABSCBNNews Watch the full episodes of TV Patrol on iWantTFC: http://bit.ly/TVPatrol-iWantTFC Visit our website at http://news.abs-cbn.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abscbnNEWS Twitter: https://twitter.com/abscbnnews #ABS-CBNHighlights #LatestNews #ABSCBNNews
