Sky News host Peta Credlin says the government is putting its faith in “green ideology” rather than the industries that have long been the foundation of Australia's prosperity. The McPhillamy gold project near Blayney in central western NSW has been kyboshed by Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek on the basis of Aboriginal cultural concerns. This comes as a massive new solar farm – plus an 800-kilometre transmission line in the Northern Territory – was approved by the same environment minister. “Everywhere you look, this is a government that is sending Australia backwards,” Ms Credlin said. “The Lucky Country? Not so anymore. Or not while this Prime Minister is in charge.”
