Peter Dutton raised a ‘legitimate issue’ about Gaza refugees

Shadow Immigration Minister Dan Tehan has commended Peter Dutton for raising a “legitimate issue” about “keeping the Australian community safe”. This comes after Opposition Leader Peter Dutton called for an outright ban on all refugee arrivals from war-torn Gaza. “Peter Dutton knows and understands from being the defence minister of this nation, being the home affairs minister of this nation, that the number one priority of any government is to keep the Australian people safe,” Mr Tehan told Sky News Australia. “I don’t think there’s anyone in this Parliament, through his experience, that understands that more than Peter Dutton. “What he has done is raised a legitimate issue about keeping the Australian community safe.”
