Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has vowed to scrap the offshore wind farm project proposed for the NSW Hunter region if the Coalition is elected next year. The Albanese government’s planned wind farm has been expected to generate up to five gigawatts of power for about four million homes. The Hunter wind farm extends from Nelson Bay to Port Stephens and covers an area of 1,854 square kilometres. During a press conference on Thursday, Mr Dutton revealed he would scrap the project, citing concerns about the environment, economy and energy reliability.
