After a crackdown that forced the closure of all online gambling and scamming hubs, Philippine authorities say they are now going after digital loan platforms. The number of Filipinos subscribed to online lending platforms soared to nearly 50 million in 2023. Now, thousands say they’ve been deceived and are trapped in a cycle of debt.
