Philippines-Japan defence pact: Deal allows troops to take part in joint exercises

The Philippines and Japan have signed a landmark defence pact that would allow their forces to take part in training and military exercises together. The new agreement will also give reciprocal access to their militaries. Tokyo has shared Manila's concerns about Beijing's actions in the South China Sea.
