Philippines launch military drills alongside Australia, Canada and US in South China Sea

The Philippines has launched military drills alongside Australia, Canada and the US in the South China Sea. The joint exercise follows several violent clashes between Philippine and Chinese ships near contested reefs as tensions between Manilla and Beijing simmer. It is the first time these four countries have held this kind of joint drill.
