Phishing scams targeting individuals are getting ‘tougher all the time’

Monash University Cyber Security Professor Dr Nigel Phair says it is becoming “tougher” to detect phishing scams after recent large businesses were hit by cyber-attacks. “It is becoming a pretty typical hack, we’re hearing about it almost day in and day out,” Dr Phair told Sky News contributor Steve Price. “This one is a little bit different because this is an attack on the individual account holder, not the organisation itself. Dr Phair said it is getting “tougher all the time” to detect legitimate calls and emails over phishing scams. Dr Phair sat down with Mr Price to discuss recent cyber-attacks.
