Plant to increase fish feed production opened

For decades now, the fisheries sector has been one of Uganda’s important exports, contributing up to 3 percent of GDP and earning the country up to$53m as of 2022. However, the high cost of feed imports are hurting efforts by farmers to increase yields and add value. NTV understands, a new factory in Jinja has its doors open and is expected to process cheap or affordable feed.
