PM Lawrence Wong jogs with recruits at Singapore's Basic Military Training Centre

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong went for a jog with recruits as part of his visit to Singapore's Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) on Aug 27 - his first official visit to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) since taking office. Speaking to the media, Mr Wong called National Service "the backbone of our security and defence" and added that Singapore needs to continue building up its security and defence capabilities in a world that is becoming more dangerous and unpredictable.
