Poilievre says Canada doesn't win US trade "tug of war" under Trudeau

Tuesday was Opposition Day in Canada's House of Commons, and Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre spoke about why he planned to introduce a motion of non-confidence in the government of Justin Trudeau. Among his grievances with the Trudeau government, Poilievre lamented that under former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Canada used to win the capitalism "tug of war" with the United States, with more money coming into Canada's economy from the U.S. than the reverse. The first attempt by the federal Conservatives to topple Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government after the collapse of the supply-and-confidence deal with the NDP will be tabled Tuesday. But that effort is expected to be defeated as both the NDP and Bloc Quebecois have signalled they plan to vote against the non-confidence motion.
