Poilievre says Trudeau’s price on pollution will drive jobs south of border after Trump win
Canadian Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre went after the Liberal’s price on pollution during question period in the House of Commons on Wednesday in the wake of Donald Trump’s win of the 2024 U.S. election. “I can’t think of anyone who would more favour quadrupling the carbon tax to $0.61 a litre in Canada than this prime minister. I think perhaps President [Elect] Trump wouldn’t mind because of course it would mean our trucking companies, our factories, our mines will all shut down and go south of the border where they will pay zero carbon tax,” Poilievre said. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded saying “the only way to build a stronger economy for the future is also to protect the environment at the same time while putting more money back in the pockets of Canadians.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10852945/us-election-harris-trump-tuesday-results/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #trudeau #poilievre #trump
