Police in Bedford, New Hampshire, freed an adult moose that had managed to trap itself under a pool cover early on Thursday, October 3. This footage released by the Bedford NH Police Department shows a pool cover being pulled back to reveal the large animal standing in water up to its belly. The department said they were called to a home shortly before 9 am on Thursday after the moose in the pool was reported. “First responders arrived to find an adult moose in a swimming pool under a pool cover, and removed the cover to help enable the moose to get out of the pool. The moose then walked out of the pool on its own and left the area. No further action was taken,” police said. According to local media, the police said the moose probably mistook the cover for solid ground and fell through. It was thought that the animal was stuck in the pool for about five hours, the report said.
