Police operation in Rio favela: Protesters rally after schools forced to shut

Where there have been protests in one of Rio’s largest favelas, after a police operation forced forty-nine schools in the area to shut down. Nine thousand children are affected. Authorities are also destroying more than forty buildings that they say are funded by cartels. But as Al Jazeera’s Monica Yanakiew reports from Rio De Janeiro, some of the poorest people are caught in the middle and are losing their homes.
