In a remarkable turnaround, the Southern Division has gone from recording the highest crime rate in June 2024 to now having the least number of incidents, dropping from 47% to just 20% of total crimes. Superintendent Albert Charlery credits this shift to increased community engagement and internal police operations. In addition, he says NGOs such as SEEDS have done their part to reduce crime in the south.
