POLICE REPORT SEVERAL INCIDENTS – OVER 100 APPREHENDED

Police are holding over 100 suspects in custody for involvement in criminal activities at different locations within the Kampala Metropolitan area during the night ushering in the New Year 2025. Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire stated that the majority of the suspects were found in possession of suspicious items, while others were arrested during the commission of crimes. Police in Kampala Metropolitan deployed officers to patrol strategic key areas where revelers gathered to celebrate the New Year 2025. The officers, on patrol vehicles, foot, and motorcycles, ensured that citizens were safe throughout the night of transition. The areas under surveillance included bars, streets, and places of worship.
