Poop on the beach? Ontario mayor calls on Ford to clear up social media "misinformation”

The mayor of a popular Ontario beach town says its reputation is being “gravely harmed” by misleading social media posts claiming people are pooping in the sand. Now, Town of Wasaga Beach Mayor Brian Smith is calling on Ontario Premier Doug Ford to clean up the online mess, which began last month after a TikTok user went viral for posting a video claiming it’s been an ongoing issue for years. Smith says the beach is safe and clean and that it’s “high time” the premier get involved. Shallima Maharaj reports from Wasaga Beach.
