Pope prays for 'wounded life' on World Day of Peace
Pope Francis on Wednesday (January 1) attended a Mass to mark the World Day of Peace. "We are called to cherish life, to care for wounded life", Francis said as he prayed in St. Peter's Basilica. "We entrust the whole world to her (Holy Mary) so that hope may be reborn, so that peace may finally sprout for all the peoples of the earth." The pope made his comments in a homily of a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica on the day the Roman Catholic Church marks the Solemnity of Mary Most Holy Mother of God.
