Port impasse

The National Trade Union Centre is taking a swipe at business chambers calling for government intervention into industrial action at the port of Port-of-Spain. NATUC along with the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union believe the chambers' call came from an interest of commercialism and not motivated by a genuine concern for workers' rights. It's an assertion that at least one chamber is vehemently denying. But as we tell you in this report, it seems as if the chambers' statement has prompted some action that has the SWWTU perplexed.
