The Port of Spain Infrastructure Company (POSINCO) is refuting claims that it has interfered with MovieTowne’s operations, or that of its tenants following a court order handed down on August 26th. Following the court order last Monday, MovieTowne said it had voluntarily agreed to make a payment via the court of $3 million, which was accepted by the Infrastructure Company. MovieTowne also claimed that following that order, POSINCO attempted to change locks on the property in violation of the Court Order. However, the Infrastructure Company said it will continue to respect the decisions of the court and uphold the right of the tenants to continue to operate their business without interference. It noted that even after two unsuccessful injunctions filed by MovieTowne’s Attorneys, POSINCO retains its right of possession of the facility. It said although tenants may be concerned about their businesses, the company has not sought to communicate with any tenant requesting that they make rental payments directly to POSINCO.
