Positive shift in how Bajans view mental health issues

There's been a positive shift in how Barbadians view mental health issues. This is according to Director of the Psychiatric Hospital, David Leacock. He was speaking to CBC News ahead of the hospital's annual walk, which forms part of activities for Mental Health Awareness Month. With around 15 hundred people expected to participate, Mr. Leacock says this represents an increase over past years, which he believes augurs well for efforts to raise awareness. Mr. Leacock says work is being done at the community level to help erase the stigma about mental health.
