Preliminary Work On Dragon Gas Project Has Begun
Preliminary work on the Dragon Gas Project has begun. Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley and Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, accompanied by officials from Shell and the National Gas Company, visited the Dona Jose 2 vessel at Tembladora Port, Chaguaramas on Friday. The vessel, will conduct crucial geophysical and geotechnical surveys from the Venezuelan Dragon Field to Shell's Hibiscus Platform. This marks a significant step toward building a 22 kilometre pipeline to transport gas from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago. Prime Minister Rowley highlighted the government's commitment to climate change management alongside clean, safe, and profitable energy practices. Minister Young stressed that the monetization of the Dragon Gas Field will significantly benefit the country by generating revenue for vital services such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
