PRESIDENT MUSEVENI URGES REGULATION FOR ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION

President Museveni said bringing together telecommunication and ICT regulators, policymakers and industry stakeholders is a significant milestone for Uganda as it underscores the country’s position as a leader in the ICT sector within the region,. This was contained in a speech delivered by the Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo at the four day International Telecommunication Union symposium where the President urged the regulators to promote a regulatory environment, that prioritizes innovation, safety, privacy and the rights of digital technology users. The four-day meeting being hosted for the first time in Eastern Africa at Speke Resort Munyonyo Kampala is on the theme, ‘Regulation for Impact’
