President William Ruto has announced an increase in the cost of modernizing the national police service, now estimated at 28 billion Kenya shillings, up from the initial 20 billion. This development comes as plans to roll out new police uniforms, procure 3,000 vehicles, and construct 17,000 housing units for officers are set to commence. The President has also called on Kenyans to respect law enforcement officers, emphasizing that there is no compromise on upholding the rule of law, including changes within the correctional services.
