Singapore's Leader of the Opposition has been accused of giving false statements during a parliamentary inquiry, in order to downplay his own responsibility in a case where his former MP lied in parliament. On the opening day of his trial, the prosecution argued that Workers' Party chief Pritam Singh was prepared to let Ms Raeesah Khan maintain her lie and guided her accordingly in doing so. If convicted of lying, Singh faces up to three years in jail, a fine of up to S$7,000, or both per charge. Jeraldine Yap reports.
