Productivity at Soroti Fruit Factory doubles after privatization

Following the government’s decision to hand over the management of Soroti Fruit Factory to a private company three months ago, productivity and demand at the market level have more than doubled, hence giving leaders hope that its main objective may have been achieved. In April 2019, President Yoweri Museveni commissioned the Soroti Fruit Factory situated at Soroti Industrial Park. According to President Museveni, the Soroti Fruit Factory was supposed to buy oranges and mangoes from local farmers to boost their household incomes and curtail poverty.
