Professor Richard Scolyer reveals brain cancer diagnosis

Former Australian of the year Professor Richard Scolyer may only have months to live after revealing his brain cancer has returned. In an interview on Nine's A Current Affair, the leading melanoma pathologist revealed an "aggressive" tumour was discovered during brain surgery last week. Professor Scolyer was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July 2023. He volunteered to undergo the world's first experimental immunotherapy and, last year, shared he was cancer-free. Recent surgery revealed the brain cancer has returned.
