Programme to help youth understand financial and other services
A new programme is providing the opportunity for Barbadians, particularly young people, to expand their knowledge regarding financial and social security services. It's being made possible through the Community Engagement and Educational Programme, being spearheaded by the Community Development Department. Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Charles Griffith, says the initiative will help young people better prepare for the world of work. He was addressing the launch of the programme, at the Valley Resource Centre, Glebe, St. George. Acting Chief Community Development Officer Kay Hinds says through the three month programme, experts from financial and social agencies will make key knowledge and services relevant to members of the public within communities.
